If you follow the lower radiator hose up toward the engine, that lower hose terminates at the thermostat housing. The housing itself is attached to the engine with three relatively small bolts. If you remove those three bolts and the cover, you will see the cooling system thermostat underneath. You will have to remove the air cleaner outlet pipe to get access to the thermostat cover. Of course, you have to drain the cooling system to replace the thermostat. It is recommended to use only the OEM (dealer supplied) thermostat for your vehicle based on your specific VIN number. Upon refilling the system with new coolant, you have to purge all air, otherwise trapped air could block coolant flow and cause overheating. YourMechanic routinely replaces cooling system thermostats in the field, on a mobile basis. If requesting this repair simply contact YourMechanic and request a thermostat replacement. If you have additional questions or concerns, by all means please recontact us.

Dead battery from loose bolt connected to battery terminal
Yes, a loose-fitting or corroded battery cable to battery post connection (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-battery-terminal-ends) can certainly lead to a dead battery.
