If your dash gauge showing engine temperature is working properly and the gauge shows normal temperature, a possible cause of the "overheating" you are describing is a faulty radiator pressure cap. The radiator cap is designed to maintain a closed system under presssure, and not allow overflow to the coolant reservoir, up to to a set pressure. If the cap is defective, coolant can boil due to the lower system pressure and, at the same time, hot coolant will overflow into the reservoir and possibly onto the ground depending on the volume of the reservoir. Of course, there are other possibilities such as a malfunctioning gauge and actual overheating. Initially, though, I would recommend that you request a radiator cap pressure test. If the cap is not the issue, the mechanic will then perform an engine overheating diagnostic. Either way, the responding certified mechanic will get this resolved for you promptly. Hello. This can be caused by a few things. Most of the time it is a failure in the crankshaft position sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-crankshaft-position-sensor). The sensor fails and causes the computer to lose engine speed signal which turns it off. I...
TCM causes engine light to come on, but no transmission problems - is it safe to drive it?

Can I put a 3.8 v6 engine in from a mustang?
Hi there: Since the Mustang engine is smaller than the V6 Ford Explorer engine, i'd recommend against trying to do this type of engine swap. Although in theory, it should align fine with motor mounts, you're going to have to...
I hear chirping from under the hood most prevalent while braking. The noise stops when the car is no longer moving.
