Hello do you know what it can be it’s been in anti theft mode for 4 days nowTexting is fine
Automotive Expert
Unfortunately, its very possible you will need a new key or immobilizer diagnosed with a factory level scan tool. You will need to contact a locksmith who carry's GM keys. Try another key if available.

I tried that. That didn’t work EitherWhen I push the start button everything comes on the car just doesn’t start and the check [engine](/topics-engine-chevy/) light and also the anti theft light stays on
Automotive Expert
Ok, we will need a scan tool to retrieve the faults and troubleshoot. Please tell me which scan tool you'll be using.

I don’t have one I had someone come over and check but since my dash wouldn’t light up it couldn’t read so he said it’s probably a fuse
Automotive Expert
I can attach the power distribution wiring diagram if it helps to check for power. If locksmith was not able to connect to immobilizer or PCM, then you may have a faulty battery or Fuse box.

Ok I have a new battery and what do you mean by faulty fuse box
Automotive Expert
The fuse box may have failed and not able to power up your modules.

would I need a new fuse box
Automotive Expert
Possible, but further testing is required.

Hello I have a question
Automotive Expert
Hello, please tell me how can I help you.

OK so I unplugged my battery from the positive and then I did the negative when I put the negative back on it started make a clicking noises and then my car went completely dead I also did a jump and the car cut on not started but on as I took the jumper cables off the car with completely dead and I can't lock my car with my key because the whole car died including key could that be my alternator
Automotive Expert
This sounds like a faulty battery.

It's a brand new battery
Automotive Expert
Its possible it sat on the shelf for some time. Lets get it tested where you bought it and start there.

They tested when I was there and it worked
Automotive Expert
I suggest having the dealer take a look at it since we need a scan tool to communicate with vehicle if battery good. Vehicle should be under warranty and this would be covered.

How do I cancel the subscription
