Sounds like you may have a dry bushing in the suspension of even heavy rust and something may have let loose?
Best thing would be to get the car on an alignment rack (so suspension is loaded and not hanging), then have someone rock the rear of the car up and down to pinpoint the noise. If it is a dry bushing you can use WD40 or similar agent to spray the bushing and see if the noise temporarily subsides.
Also try to move the exhaust around to be sure that isn't causing your issues.

Dry suspension bushing, rotted component that broke off, loose/rusty/broken exhaust hangers, rusty backing plate behind brakes, loose exterior body panel, loose items in rear trunk or hatch area, etc ...
