Can a 96 Lexus es300 transmission fit in a 00 es300?

The 1996 Lexus ES300 used a Type A541E transmission while the 2000 model year used a Type U140E. The two transmissions are completely different. If you are looking for a transmission for your 2000 Lexus, simply go to Car-Part.com and you will find an exact match for your car (there are many, many listed for your model year). Transmission swaps on modern computer controlled vehicles must be exact matches because if you attempt to use a transmission that is not cataloged as a direct cross reference, you will find that the engine and transmission computers are not interchangeable. Even if you can get a "different" non-interchange transmission to physically fit, it will not operate properly and the PCM will spit out error codes. If you are interested in a transmission replacement (OEM to OEM), YourMechanic professionals in certain locales can assist with that. Please simply inquire based on your locale. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic.

My alternator is dropping charge. Is there any other option other than replacing it?
This may suggest that the failing voltage regulator may not be working properly. When the voltage regulator is not working properly, this may...

You have the Chrysler 46RE transmission. Among the possible causes of what you describe is a rear servo piston that is sticking or broken, pin bore wear and/or the reverse band is slipping. The servo piston on the 46RE has...
