I did something really stupid. I took one of my spark plugs out to check if it was wet after I replaced cooling fan switch and check [engine](/topics-engine/) light came on. I bled cooling system and rechecked coolant level also. But in the process I accidentally started my car with the plug out and now it won't start at all. It turns over but won't start. I'M A GIRL so don't be too hard on me My car has 142000 miles. My car has an automatic transmission This is exactly what hapoened to my bmw x5 Mechanic's Assistant: Does the light stay on, or does it blink? It has new spark plugsBut it wont start

You could get it in any auto stores. light spray on the air filter spray it for like 2-3 seconds on the air filter then start.

It is not a huge mistake. Just make sure all coil connections are OK. Just re-check all your work.

Are the coils and spark plugs firing? What is the battery output in voltage?

How do i check if its firing? When instart it it cranks and just crankingI dont know how to check the voltage

do you have a voltmeter? Pull each plugs out and with the coil together, then ground the plug, while doing that have someone crank the engine. Do one plug at a time. Just one crank and stop, you should see spark at the electrode.
