Hybrid technology has been around for a while, but it’s just now getting used on larger vehicles. We haven’t seen any major issues with the Silverado Hybrid, but because it is such a new concept, we do hold some reservations. However, the Silverado Hybrid has been in production since 2005, so we believe that most issues with the battery and gas engine should have been worked out by now.

Available in regular, extended, and crew cabs, the 2012 Silverado Hybrid features pretty impressive specs, especially for a hybrid engine:

Major Recalls
