Power Outlet is not working Inspection Service

The power outlet is often overlooked as an essential component in your car, but we rely heavily on it charging the cell phones, tablet, portable GPS, DVD players, and other devices we use throughout the day, both in and out of the car. The power outlet can stop working for a few different reasons, and none are very hard to fix. A mechanic can quickly diagnose the issue.

Common reasons for this to happen:

Blown fuse

A broken fuse usually happens either by attaching an electronic device that has too much power for the outlet to handle, or a metal object is accidentally wedged into the outlet that causes the fuse to short out.

Stretched or broken wires

If the outlet is pulled hard enough, the accessory outlet can usually detach from what is typically a fragile plastic plug.

Power outlet is burnt out

Over time a power outlet can burn out from use. It may be time to replace the entire unit if it is worn to the point of failure.

What to expect:

A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the source and cause of the power outlet malfunction, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.

How it's done:

The mechanic will check to see that the accessory fuse works and that the current power outlet is properly connected to your vehicle. The mechanic may also need to remove other nearby panels or the area around the gearshift lever to get proper access to the accessory outlet.

How important is this service?

These days, the power outlet is most often used to charge cell phones, tablets, and portable GPS systems. If you rely on any of those devices, it's advisable to book a mechanic to diagnose the power outlet malfunction.
