Pete was wonderful! He didn't seem bothered (at all) when I asked him about general car maintenance issues and gave very thorough explanations. Oh - by the way - the work he did was great as well!
Peter was great, arrived promptly and had the car up and running in a very timely manner. Thank you, we are very pleased.

Honoring showed up right on time, was courteous, professional, really knew his specialty and completed the job well within the estimated window. I did a test drive to try out my AC and I got cold air blowing for the first time in several years! Many thanks, Honorio!
Honorio called when he was on his way over, preformed the work very competently, communicated his findings along the way. Everything I expect from a true professional. I will definitely use his service again. The price is fair and it couldn't be more convenient!

I asked that the truck I wanted worked on be charged w/ Freon to make the AC work. Fred did so & it worked fine. I also asked him to take a look at the transmission because it seemed to delay in shifting. He said it was overfilled, however, he did not have the instrument with him to take out the overfilled amount of fluid & I could make another apptmt to have him do that. Would U please have whomever stocks your mechanics' trucks to include that piece of equipment because making another apptmt in some busy people's lives is an inconvenience in that U have to be at home waiting for someone to show up a SECOND time to complete the original problems & some people just don't have that kind of time. All in all, Fred was a VERY nice man, seemed very knowledgeable, & fixed our truck's AC problem. I decided against making a second apptmt & to just let the transmission stay as it is. Like I told Fred, "Well, at least it's not UNDERfilled....that's more troublesome."

Max was great! Very professional, friendly, and courteous. He did an awesome job. I paid exactly what I was quoted. No surprises. He came to my house to do an AC recharge, and got the AC blowing nice cold air again in less than 30 minutes. Very efficient, but a job done correctly. He's an excellent mechanic. YourMechanic is so convenient and the prices are reasonable. I'll definitely be using this service and book Max again.

Car AC Repair Service

What to Expect:

For an AC system to work, it needs a gas or liquid substance called refrigerant (R-12 in older cars, R-134a in 1995 and newer cars). Over time, refrigerant can leak from the AC system through seals. If the AC does not have enough refrigerant, it will not blow cold air.

Keep in mind:

Since the AC system is a sealed unit, the only way to tell if the car needs a recharge is if the AC is not blowing cold air through the vents. There are two types of refrigerant. These cannot be interchanged. For older cars, it should be filled with R12 refrigerant or converted to a newer system. For cars made after 1995, the AC should be filled with R134a.

How it's done:

  • Install air conditioning manifold gauge set.
  • Determine if the air conditioning system charge is low.
  • Add the correct refrigerant to top off the air conditioning system.
  • Install thermometer in vents to monitor vent temperatures.
  • Check system for leaks.
  • Check for proper operation of AC system.

Our recommendation:

It is common for refrigerant to leak. If the AC is not as cold as you expect, then it is probably a good time to have the mechanic look at it. Lack of proper cold air can be an indication of other problems with AC (fan not working, AC compressor not working, etc.).

What are the common symptoms indicating you need an Car AC Repair?

  • AC is not working.
  • AC is not blowing cold air.
  • Clicking noise from the engine compartment.

How important is this service?

In addition to your comfort, air conditioning systems add value to your vehicle. You should keep your AC fully operational. In some systems, the hot and cold air are blended to achieve the desired temperature setting. In these cases, when the AC system fails, in addition to not getting any cold air, the entire temperature regulation can be thrown off.
