My car overheats when I stop at a stoplight. It goes back down to normal operating temperature once I begin to drive again. I've also noticed that the heater blows cold air after being stopped for awhile. If I rev the engine, the temp drops to normal temp and the heat starts blowing hot air again but this only lasts for approximately 1 minute after I stop again. I have not noticed any smoke or vapor or anything like that coming from under the hood. I have replaced the thermostat and the radiator within the past 2 years. I've also taken it to a mechanic to have diagnostics run with negative results for everything they tested( although I'm not sure what exactly they did test) Could the problem be my water pump? Or is it likely something else?
