Q: Why does my car theft system keep getting triggered ?

I keep having to reset my car theft system

My car has 171798 miles.

Hi there. In most cases, when a theft system keeps activating it is due to a sensor failure within the security system or an electrical malfunction. The factory security systems can be very difficult to pinpoint as some of them are not accessible by professional mechanics that do not have certification from General Motors to complete these repairs. It might be a good idea for you to contact your local Chevrolet dealership first to see if they can pinpoint the source of the security system malfunction you are experiencing with your Malibu, or a certified automotive alarm repair company.
