Q: When lifted and put in drive the wheels (FWD) stop spinning once in a while, I can hear rumbling.

asked by on February 10, 2017

I was investigating a leaky transmission so I lifted the front and put it in gear to let the trans heat up some and wait for leaks. When I did I could hear a crunching or rumbling for somewhere. Then the wheels would stop for a second or two an start again. What possible could this be and how do I try to fix it? Is there oil that I may need to add somewhere?

My car has 188500 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
