Hi, I have been having an issue with my Mustang. Sometimes, when I try to go over 45 mph, the RPM increases and the engine sounds like it is accelerating, but the car does not go any faster. The first day it happened, it acted normally for 2 weeks afterwards. The second day it happened, I stopped and then turned the car off and on. It started working normally for another week. The third time it happened, I had trouble at the same speed. However, this third day it felt like the car slightly jolted/correctly shifted gears and then started working normally again. I went to the mechanic after the second time it happened, and the mechanic changed the transmission fluid and then connected it to the computer and said something about the 5th gear (maybe something about the solenoid?) There is no grinding noise, shaking, or other weird things going on. How much do you think this should all of this cost me?
My car has 130000 miles.
