Q: Wheels lock after 20 minutes of idling like the parking brake is engaged.

asked by on February 03, 2018

When the car has been idling for more than 20 minutes it feels like the wheels lock up making it hard to move forward. This happens when the car is in first or reverse gears, whether the emergency was engaged or not. The car will move forward but it feels like driving with the emergency brake engaged. The car can't be pushed forward even in neutral with the engine off. After 30 minutes of sitting with the enigne off the car will roll when pushed and the wheels unlock.

My car has 170000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.
