Q: what happened when the security light is off?

asked by on December 10, 2017

The car has not been mobilize for about 2 months now for I don't know how to drive and my husband had been in the hospital. The last time I checked the fuel was just below the half level.Yesterday when I tried to just open the door, the alarm didn't sound and when I looked at the dashboard, the light was off.I didn't try to start the car for I have less knowledge about it and I am afraid I might make the problem worse.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Engine light with code P0330 knock sensor 2
Hi there. The code you are getting is for a knock sensor problem. Most of the time, if the engine is running good, this is due to a bad connector on the sensor or the sensor itself. I would typically...
Engine light is on
Hello. Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) do not necessarily identify faulty parts. For example, the Code you are inquiring about, namely, P0126 could set the Check Engine Light (CEL) simply because the coolant level in your car is too low. If...
I was driving and then all of a sudden, my oil pressure went down and a loud knocking started.
Hi, thanks for writing in. The only way to verify if the engine is damaged is to do at least a partial inspection of the internals. The oil pan and/or valve covers should be removed to inspect the camshaft sensors...
I have a bad knock sensor. Is it worth replacing?
Hello. Yes, you are correct - the P0325 (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/p0325-obd-ii-trouble-code-knock-sensor-malfunction-sensor-1-bank-1-by-spencer-clayton) is indicative of a failed knock sensor (or the knock sensor wiring). I think it is a rare circumstance where you would not want to make this repair. It is straightforward...
Temp Fluctuating, rough idle, and RPM's fluctuating.
Hi there. Check the coolant and make sure that it's full. The engine mounts are most likely worn causing the engine to shake the vehicle when stopped. If your engine is not overheating, then there is no danger with the...
Very slow coolant leak
Hi there. I wouldn't assume that you have a coolant leak based on coolant being present after the vehicle overheated. In most cases, the coolant will boil out of the radiator cap and cause this type of 'spillage'. If you've...
2003 Nissan 350z code P0128 and had little smoke out my exhaust the night before the CEL came on. Any help?
Hi Jesus. Thanks for sending in your question. The P0128 code means that the engine coolant is not getting warm enough, fast enough. In other words, there is a problem with the engine operating temperature not being reached within a...
