Q: what are the best rotors and brake pads?

asked by on

When I brake they squeal

My car has 152000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi there, thanks for writing in.

Because your car is a Ford, the absolute best stock pads and rotors you can get would be to get the Motorcraft ones right from the dealership. Other great brands for brake parts are Brembo, Textar, and Pagid. There are many other brands out there, but brakes are definitely one spot that it’s not worth being cheap on parts. There are a couple tips and tricks when doing brakes to avoid having them squeak in the future, which an experienced technician will be familiar with. If you want to have the brakes done for you, you can contact a qualified technician, such as one available through YourMechanic, who will provide OEM quality replacement parts and expert installation.
