Q: transmission speed sensor A450E

asked by on August 26, 2017

My Toyota dealer mechanic told me that I needed a new trans speed sensor.......also told me that it would be ridiculously expensive if they did it, so he wrote down the part number which I got for about 80% less.............unfortunately, I can't find the location of the trans speed sensor. I have a 2000 Sienna with the A450E tranny. According to the FSM.....well, just take a look at the tech service bulletin. This makes NO sense to me.

I am desperate for help...........NOBODY in ANY Toyota forum has been able to help..........I have been trying to find the damn thing for nearly 2 months!

***** It is NOT the sensor with the gear on it. Clicking noise at lowspeed turns, vibration when stopping abruptly, mechanic said need axles & no grease left. how long do i have?
As for "how long you have", unfortunately you needed to replace them when they were mentioned. With no grease to protect and lubricate them, the clicking noise you hear is the joints (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ball-joint-front-replacement) basically grinding themselves apart. Is this potentially...

Hi there - if both of the known good keys (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/4-essential-things-to-know-about-the-keys-to-your-car) stop working, it is likely the key transceiver in the vehicle has stopped working for some reason. Check for blown fuses, just in case. The Toyota security system software...
