Q: Transmission overheating

asked by on March 27, 2017

My transmission has now been replaced by a so called "factory" rebuilt transmission from Aamco. Original transmission went out last February with around 180k miles on it. I bought the factory rebuilt one because I don't trust Aamco's mechanics to rebuild my transmission, the factory rebuilt one came with a 3year 100k mile warranty. Anyways, transmission #2 would heat up anytime I was in rush hour for to long, or going up any type of hill. I didn't do much sitting in rush hour, or traveling for that matter so I didn't get it taken care of right away because it's my only vehicle and I need it for work. Finally I had time to take it in, they replaced the transmission again (the third one now), but I drove my truck to AZ, with no load at all, and had to pull over several times to idle my engine to allow the transmission to cool. Once it warms up, the transmission runs at about 210 degrees, which is very warm. The idiots at Aamco don't seem to know or care what the problem is. Please Help
