Q: Tilt steering will not lock into the upper position

asked by on

My tilt steering only locks into the lower position. It won't lock into the upper position.

It sounds like there is an issue with the tilt steering lock. There are several different ways that manufacturers lock the steering column. Over time with use it is not uncommon for these systems to wear out over time and have a failure. I would ask for assistance from one of the mechanics at YourMechanic to look at your steering lock to see what repairs need to be made.
