I've got a 1990 F150 with the 5.0. I replaced the throttle body with a BBK aftermarket piece thinking that would fix my issue. It did not. I lost the little arm that connects the to armatures on the top of the OEM throttle body, cannot figure out what that piece is called in order to replace it.
Pressing the pedal down, it feels snagged until a certain pressure is applied, then it depresses too much, causing the engine to rev too high.
Even when warm, engine never gets below 1500 RPM.
Replaced throttle body.
Replaced TPS.
Replaced throttle cable.
Replaced throttle cable again.
Checked every vacuum line for leaks with brake cleaner.
Seafoamed engine, twice.
Cannot figure out that is going on.
My car has a manual transmission.
