how do you tell if the starter selenoid is no good?

My car has 151000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi there:

There used to be a time where you could simply attach a battery cable directly from the battery to the starter to test the solenoid. However, with newer electrical sensors on vehicles, doing this can cause serious electrical damage to the ECU of your Suzuki. The best thing to do is have a professional mobile mechanic come to your location and complete a car will not turn over inspection which will determine whether your solenoid is the issue or not.
