I JUST WANT TO DO WHAT RIGHT NEXT AND NOT SPEND A BILLION DOLLARS. HOW AND WHAT DO I DO, AND WJO DO YOU SUGGEST AS A LESS EXPENSIVE ALTERNATIVE? THANKS HUGO

My car has 120000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi Hugo. It sounds like something may have come loose; shift cable, connector, linkage, etc.. Are there any warning lights illuminated? Are there any noises that don’t sound normal present? All in all it sounds like a connection may have been loose and is now not properly connected. I suggest having a qualified technician perform an inspection to avoid replacing unnecessary parts. Your Mechanic has several available technicians that can assist you with a car does not move inspection.
