Q: Tailgate glass off track

asked by on

The rear tailgate glass is off track and will not go up.

Hello. If the rear window comes off track it will usually be due to a faulty window regulator. Some parts of the regulator are made of plastic and the plastic parts will deteriorate over time. If the parts are deteriorated the regulator, then the regulator will need to be replaced in order for the window to operate normally again. A technician would be able to inspect the rear window to determine if the regulator is defective or if the window is in fact off track. If the window is off track, then there are adjustments a technician could perform to get the window to get it back on track.
