Q: Q: Speedometer broken

asked by on

The speedometer does not work.

Many vehicles uses a vehicle speed sensor or wheel speed sensor to determine the rate at which certain gears or the wheels are spinning to determine the vehicle speed. A malfunction here and take away the signal required to activate the motor moving the needle in the instrument cluster. A motor does move the needle across the cluster so it is possible that the needle motor itself has burned out. Have an experienced technician inspect your speedometer to come up with a proper diagnosis and repair for this issue.
