Q: Should the oil light show when timing belt bad/ get oil changes what could of happened why no signs

asked by on February 14, 2018

Car wouldn’t start it turns out timing belt melted or blew up which caused multiple damages.. 1- my mechanic estimated $4.000++ much higher than any of your shown estimates.. Question— I maintain an oil change // wouldn’t there have been noticed if oil leak? 2- shouldn’t there have been an oil light on if a leakage? 3- wouldn’t any services I’ve had done // oil changes // few odds —- anyone notice ??? I’m frustrated cause isn’t it unusual for a Pontiac 2008 G-5 in these days with only 78,000 miles... and why such a huge difference in your on line quote VS reality quote... and the quote wasn’t for all the extra damage it was for just the basic timing belt/ water pump/ one other thing pistons
