Q: Should I buy this car for $1700

asked by on February 17, 2017

I plan on buying my first car but I don't know much about cars. I saved up for months and I finally have enough for a used car on Craigslist. I found this 99 golf Volkswagen with 140k miles for $1700. I've done some search online and read mixed reviews about this car. Some people said it's a reliable car and other said it costs a lot to fix. I plan on just using this car for work, and driving around town. Should I buy this car at this price or maybe even try to lower it at $1500 or look for a different car

My car has 140000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
