Q: Short somewhere that's stopping all interior lights from working and hear clicking when I use power probe on light + and -

My rear driver side map light started smoking one day. And all interior lights stopped working. I remove back seat and deck plate to find 14 gauge ground wire melted also out the back of the car. So I replace the entire wire and either replace or wrapped electrical tape around any other spots that have breaks. My lights still dont work so I use the Power Probe to see if they were even getting power and they're getting very little if anything at all and when I touch the ground to the ground of the center map light in front I hear a clicking sound coming from right around the gear shifter I have my car pretty well taken apart in the front. With all wires still connected so I have pretty good access to the wiring and components. Having hard time finding the problem.
