Q: Serpentine belt squeaking.

asked by on

I can hear the serpentine belt squeaking.

The belt squeaking might just be a belt that needs replaced. This engine also can have issues with the harmonic balancer coming apart, which may cause the belt to squeal. The harmonic balancer is the lowest pulley you see on your engine, and is the drive pulley that drives all the accessories. I recommend you have it checked for a defective harmonic balancer and belt.
