Q: Selenoid not engaging

asked by on December 15, 2017

So I just bought an old '94 F-150 4x4 to use around my acreage. The truck had been broken into while the previous owner had it and the ignition was messed up when they tried to steal it. The previous owner created a by-pass wire switch to engage the starter solenoid since the ignition switch was pretty badly mangled. I have replaced the ignition switch which does everything (disengage the steering wheel lock, turn on all accessories, and enables the ignition) it just won't engage the starter selenoid so I am still using the by-pass switch for that. I can't figure out where the new switch is not connecting to the starter selenoid. Any thoughts?
