Q: Rough start up

asked by on March 16, 2017

My car check engine light came on and computer shows code P0455. When I am stopped or parked there is a vibration and when I accerlerate the car jerks and sputter and when I back up the car gives an odd pull back/sputter. And each time I put in gas the car has a rough start up like it wants to give up and occasionally it will say the gas cap is open and it is tightly closed, I even got it replaced. They told me I needed a new vavle cover gasket.

My car has 118000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Once car warms up won't go in gear
When the transmission fluid is colder it may be sealing good and as fluid warms the internal transmission leaks by internal seals. Have transmission pressure tested for internal leakage and may need overhaul.
