Q: Replaced the crank position sensor on my 2004 ford ranger,3 liter, now it won't start,it started clicking and anti theft light blin

asked by on March 13, 2017

I replaced the crank position sensor and it won't start. It would not even turn over. I heard a clicking noise and my anti theft light came on. so I put my key in the eginition on the On position and 10 to 15 mins to see if it resets. What else could it be if its not the anti security system.

My car has 160000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.

Hi there - check the fuses and headlight relay (behind the fuse box) first. These are the most likely failed components (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/headlight-is-not-working-inspection) causing a lack of headlight function.
