Q: rear passenger window only works when used on the door, not the drivers panel

asked by on July 03, 2017

i had a problem with my rear passenger door. the door wouldn't open from either side. i was able to get the panel off and after messing with it for a while i found out it was something with the child safety lock mechanism. i don't know how, but i was able to somehow re-engage that, so now my door only opens from the outside. furthermore, since doing that, the window on that door only works when i use the switch on that door, it will not work from the driver's door panel switch.
My car has a manual transmission.
