Q: Randomly Shutting off.

asked by on December 22, 2016

Well, when I got the bronco 2, it would start up, then when it got to running temp it would die and not start for an hour. So I replaced the TFI and TPS. Did not help, I then replaced the coil, fuel pressure regulator and used computer, now it runs and drives but will randomly shut off. It starts right up again and drives, but like I said. It just randomly shuts off. Could the MAP sensor cause this issue? Or??

Thanks for your help!!

Hello, I have an I35 Infinity 2002. Car wouldn't go pass 40 and acted like it wanted to shut off. I parked the car and saw white smoke.
If your engine is smoking white and has the smell of oil (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/smell-of-oil-in-car-inspection), then check for any oil leaks that would be leaking onto the exhaust pipe and burning off. The white smoke is water burning in the chamber and...
