asked by on

Just changed alternator and battery , when i turn on the car it makes a jumping/pulsing sound from the front and when i pick up the hood , the engine is shaking . Once i try putting the car it drive it cuts off

Hello, thank you for writing in. The vehicle may be stalling once in gear for several reasons. To start, check the level and condition of your transmission fluid. Low or dirty fluid will cause issues with the pressure, and can cause the vehicle to stall much like you have described. In addition, check the throttle and idle air control valve to make sure they are not filthy. A dirty idle air control valve will cause the engine to stall, and can cause a misfire. This misfiring is likely causing your engine to shake. For more help with diagnostics and repairs, contact our service department to schedule an appointment.
