Q: Problem with brake lights

asked by on

The brake lights work when I don't have the headlights on.

Hi there. If the brake lights are always staying on, then you most likely have a faulty brake light switch. On the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s this is a common as the switch ages. In extreme cases, the switch will always stay active and the battery may be drawn down as the brake lights will stay on even after the key is shut off. If you need further assistance, I recommend you have a certified technician, like one from YourMechanic, inspect for possible electrical problems.
