Q: Power steering doesn't working

asked by on

The power steering has stopped working.

Hi there. A common issue many owners of your particular vehicle face is the power steering quitting on them. Usually, it is accompanied by an alert on the Prius’ multi function display. Commonly, the power steering module will be the source of the problem. It is about $80 used and $500 from the dealership new. A decent scan tool or multimeter will be able to verify through testing if the power steering module is in fact at fault. I recommend you have a certified technician, such as one from YourMechanic, inspect the power steering system and scan the computer for fault codes to further facilitate finding the source of the problem.
