Q: Possible lower ball joint problem based upon visual inspection, causing steering wheel vibrations

asked by on December 12, 2016

I have recently, within the last few months noticed a steering wheel shimmy that I have been unable to diagnose. At first I thought it was the wheels and tires, so I had them road force balanced and they all passed with flying colors. I have a 2.5" lift/level currently on my truck. I crawled up under my truck this weekend and noticed my lower ball joints did not look like they were seated properly on the vehicle. Not sure if this could be the problem or not, I do have pictures of them that I want to post but I'm not sure how I can upload them.

My car has 55000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
