Q: Possible faulty ECM or Camshaft, Crank Shaft Fuel Pump Issue

asked by on May 26, 2017

It has been 1 yr. after an aftermarket ECM install and I am presently having intermittent engine performance issues. Such as; engine is slow to start, idling or stalling, infrequent reduction in fuel efficiency, power and acceleration. The computer is not illuminating a check engine light and has no trouble codes. It maybe a camshaft, crank shaft sensor(s) and possible fuel pump problem. I don't know if the problem is enough to trigger the computer or not. A new battery was recently installed, felt somewhat better. However continued to seem off. There were prior trouble codes present before the ECM was installed; Camshaft PO340, HO2S Sensor heater circuit low P0031, B1S1, P0037 02 B1S1 but was not fixed, guessing the mechanic thought it was a faulty ECM or the shop did not want to cover what was really wrong under warranty. The dashboard did recently read an oil light, so again I don't know if the ECM is going bad, improperly installed or just not picking up these issues.
