Q: Passenger side power window.

asked by on March 06, 2017

Few months back my vehicle's passenger side power window got stuck when it was open and did not go up. I took my car to a shop they rolled up the window for me and provided me a diagnosis that the motor/regulator needs to be replaced.

Next few weeks I got quotes from several different shops about the diagnosis and decided to go to a AAA certified shop which gave me a really good price. After spending several hours at the shop they came and told me that they think motor/regulator seems to be fine it is the switch which has gone bad. I got confused and decided to not get the job done that day.

I again went to the first shop who provided me the original diagnosis and let them know about this. One of their other mechanic took another look and came back with a diagnosis that both switch and motor/regulator needs to be replaced.

Now I really don't know what to do and who to trust?

My car has 83500 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
