Q: 4wd malfunctions

asked by on

on-demand 4 wheel drive does not engage and light on dash does not show ? is there a relay or a fuse under the hood?

My car has 351000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.

Hello. There should be fuses and relays for the 4wd system in the vehicle’s fuse panel, located in the engine bay. The diagram for their locations should be found on the inside of the fuse panel lid, or in the owner’s manual. If the fuses and relays are good then it may be possible that there is an issue with the 4wd system, perhaps with a solenoid, switch, or the system’s wiring.
