Q: Oil level reduced but no leak or smoke found

asked by on January 10, 2017

I have used synthetic oil for my bike (Yamaha fz-s) but I noticed a oil level issue. With in a 4000 km I topped up for nearly 3 to 4 times But continuously it's draining or anything but with out any leakage. And also there is no any sign of white or black smoke Every time I top up until the higher level of the dip stick. But for every 1000km. It has been reduced double times of the lower level indication of the dip stick.

I would like to know why & how to reduce or stay away from this issue After the replacement of the engine piston ,barrel &valve kit

Hi - yes, absolutely change the o-rings (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-distributor-o-ring). They get brittle with heat and age, lose their resilience, and you have oil leaks. If you would like assistance with this task, I would recommend having the oil cooler replaced (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/oil-cooler-replacement)...
