I have milky white gunk under my oil cap and on my dipstick. The local shop first told me that I had a blown head gasket, but now they're saying the milky gunk is from condensation building up as the result of a bad thermostat, coolant sensor and a leaking water pump. I think these two scenarios are very different. How can you go from saying a head gasket is blown, which is a major problem, to now saying it's something a lot less significant?
