Q: Not enough power?

asked by on July 18, 2017

I got a message on my dash saying "check charging systems" so I tested my alternator and it was reading 11v. And this same day on the way to work, 5 the temp gauge almost hit the red line, and I pulled over and let it cool down and went and drove it home. Now its been sitting a few days, and today I started her up and parked her in a better spot, but I noticed my power steering was only half working and my brakes were pretty touchy. It's not leaking or anything.

Wondering if this could all be because theres not enough juice to power all the bullshit electrical sensors in this new car, and if it goes further than buying and replacing a new alternator/battery setup.

My car has 41000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
