Q: no fuel

asked by on December 06, 2016

I'm having problems with my fuel delivery.. my car started sunday morning and immediately turned off and then I tried to start it again and it was trying to start but wouldn't at all.

I then got some starter fluid and sprayed it on my air filter and it started but then turned off again.

do you think it would be the fuel pump entirely or the fuse or relay?

My car has 103000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Oil type - 1999 Toyota Camry
Hello. I would suggest not putting in 20w50 oil as it is too thick and can cause engine damage from tight areas of the engine that will not get oil. You should use 5w30 only (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/what-type-of-oil-should-i-use).

1998 Ford Expedition - when I open just the driver side front door the dome light flickers on and off -- why?
The switch in the door frame is probably not making good contact. That is fairly easy to test just by bypassing the switch. If that is not the issue, a simple trace of the dome light circuit will reveal the...
Car starts and then dies
Hi There, A few different things will usually cause the car to start and then die (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/car-starts-and-then-dies-inspection). A bad ignition coil (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ignition-coil-replacement) can cause this if it is beginning to fail, resulting in intermittent starting problems. A dirty or faulty...
