My driver's side window fell inside the door. I'm not sure if it just needs to be put back in place or if the motor, or regulator, needs replacing.

The regulator cable broke and will no longer support the window. If you can hear the motor run when you operate the switch then you may not need the motor. I recommend you have the door panel removed and the complete system checked and also the widow checked to make sure it did not crack.
