I was driving last week when all of a sudden I was not able to accelerate over 40mph then a steam started coming out of the front end of the vehicle and the temperature gauge went up to hot. I immediately pulled over, turned the vehicle off and had it towed to the dealership. Two days later I was told that a clamp had broken off of the coolant pump and caused the engine to overheat. I was told that I would need to replace the engine with a used engine even though the engine has not yet been looked at to see what damage has occurred or what could be fixed. I also had the lower intake manifold replaced about 5 months ago. Does this sound correct or am I being taken advantage of?
