Q: My oil pressure gauge was reading zero but is now jumping around

asked by on March 14, 2018

I got my oil changed an the 2nd. I noticed around the 11th that my oil psi gauge was sitting at zero but I haven’t seen any evidence of an oil leak. While I drove it the past couple of days the gauge just sat at zero but my car was driving fine, no warning light came on, no funny smells or sounds. This morning when I was driving it was bouncing from zero to 100 to 50. Does the sensor need to be replaced? The man that changed my oil said he had a hard time getting my oil filter out, could he have damaged the sensor in the process? I just want to request the right repair. Thanks. P.S. I have to check if it’s a 3.0 or 3.6 for sure -Monica
