Q: EPS light is on

my EPS indicator light stays on all the time when im driving but my steering not moor difacult than befor light cam on hade som recalls on this car so took it into a deelership the light when off for a week but then cam back on still no chang in steering and the car is almost 100.000 miles on it evrything els seems fine with it but a frend of mine said he has an alantra too with that sam EPS light and a mechanice told him jump starting your car can mess up a sencore in EPS do you think thats whats goin on i calld back the deeler on phone and they said it would cost 120.00 dalors to start with fixing it the 120.00 would go toward the fix but a man at deelership when i first went in to fix recalls said if the recall fixes dont fix EPS light i would need new steering collum that would cost from 1500.00 dallors ok when im driving it doesnt pull to the rigfht nor left it doesnt shake or anything it drives just fine like power steering working fine just the indicatore just stays on
