Q: My car won't start

asked by on February 27, 2017

Greetings, my Kia Rio a manual transmission when I tried starting it, it would start and when I attempt to raise the accelerator it will give cranky sound as if there's no fuel and it will just go off, my mechanic said it's an electrical problem and he has done some trial and error yet he didn't get the problem, he even changed the fuel pump still it doesn't work. Please what could be the responsible for this problem. I await your response in earnest. Thanks Sam

Radiator leaking fluid
Hi. Fluid leaks are common, particularly from old rubber hoses. I suggest you have a certified mechanic, like one from YourMechanic, have all of the hoses replaced (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/radiator-hose-replacement). It may seem like overkill, but all of the other hoses that...

Starts but will not stay running unless you pour gas directly into the engine
It sounds like you may have a fuel supply problem in getting the proper amount of fuel to the fuel injectors. As you know, when you turn the key to on, the fuel pump (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-pump-replacement) is activated and the fuel...
Is it normal for a car to jerk a bit back when you make a stop
It sounds like your vehicle may be a bit low on transmission fluid (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/transmission-fluid-service) or you may potentially have a bad transmission control solenoid. As you know, the transmission works on hydraulic pressure built up from the fluid inside and...
