Q: My car won't start after filling up gas

asked by on December 14, 2016

Whenever I fill up gas, my car will stall and I have to pump on the gas pedal for it to start. Even after I have to keep reving until it's able to go by itself. Someone suggested that it's he purge valve. I had the codes read but they didn't tell me what codes. They only told me that it was an emissions problem. Is there any way for me to fix it myself? I'm a little tight on money and I have other stuff to do on it.

My car has 165000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
